Frequently asked questions
What is Coaching?
Coaching is a simple, fast and effective means to change your life for the better. It helps you break with the past, and create a compelling future.
The International Coach Federation (ICF) defines coaching as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential…
Individuals who engage in a coaching relationship can expect to experience fresh perspectives on personal challenges and opportunities, enhanced thinking and decision-making skills, enhanced interpersonal effectiveness, and increased confidence in carrying out their chosen work and life roles.”
Another useful definition comes from the former Professional and Personal Coaches Association:
“Coaching is an ongoing relationship that focuses on clients taking action toward the realization of their visions, goals or desires. Coaching uses a process of inquiry and personal discovery to build the client’s level of awareness and responsibility, and provides the client with structure, support, and feedback.”

How long does the coaching relationship last?
Personal coaching can last as long or as little as you want. A few coaching sessions are better than none, and sometimes you can see fast results.
However, most of my clients choose to stay together for longer periods of time. Times vary from a few months to several years. For most people, once they see how useful our leadership coaching and career coaching sessions are, they consider the investment well worth it.
How much does it cost to work with a professional coach?
The coaching fees vary according to the type of coaching you get, and the qualifications and experience of the coach you choose. Make sure you check these on the coaching services page before you make any commitments.
Who benefits most from coaching?
You will get the most out of coaching when you are committed to your success, and you are willing to be accountable to your coach. When you really want to make the changes, and are willing to invest the time and resources to make them happen, you will see amazing benefits in your life.
What’s the success rate of coaching?
According to independent studies published in the Manchester Review, over 98% of clients are more than satisfied with their coach, and the average return on investment on coaching is over 540%.

Personal or professional coaching is an investment you make in yourself. An investment that you make today, that can change your life forever. How much is that worth to you?
Having said that, I wouldn’t want to coach anyone who is not in a position to invest in coaching. If that’s the case for you right now, visit our free resources section on the left menu – there’s plenty for you to get started there. Then, when you feel ready, get back in touch.
I’m too busy, how do I make the time to work with a coach?
OK, in that case I suggest we start with your work-life balance.
