Professional coach for leaders, executives, and teams
Face-to-face or by telephone …
one-to-one or in groups …
on-site or away from office distractions.
The principal coach at Coach You is me, Marien Perez. For the most part, I conduct all the coaching sessions personally. But it doesn’t have to be that way. If you need more than one coach (for example, for a corporate project involving several departments or locations), that’s easily arranged.
I work with a pool of over 100 fully qualified coaches with practices spread throughout the world. I can call on their services whenever we need them.
I’m fluent in English and Spanish, which means I can coach in either language.
“I’m a professional coach, someone who helps people bring out the best in their lives.
I don’t have a magic wand, but I do have a boundless interest in human possibility. The buzz I get from helping clients explore their untapped talents and unfulfilled creativity never diminishes.”
Marien Perez: history and background
I’ve been coaching people since 2004. I trained at CoachU, the world’s leading provider of coach-training programmes – often referred to as the Coaching University. Since then I have spent more than 5,000 hours coaching a broad range of executives and professionals all over the world.
I’m a member of the International Coach Federation the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and the British Psychological Society. Although the training included many coaching techniques (NLP, REBT, CBT), nowadays I work mostly with the 3 Principles approach, and the Thinking Environment (c).
I work regularly as an executive coach and facilitator with leading consultancies as well as with Oxford University. My work with them has involved some of the world’s most famous names in IT, mobile phones, management consultancy, and courier services, as well as the world’s best-known business schools.
Techniques and motivation
Although my background is in science, it’s human nature that fascinates me. After university I went into educational psychology and neuroscience, and set up a ‘learn to learn’ business that evolved into coaching. I found what I wanted to do when I discovered that far too many people fail to find their own niche in life.
A scientific background provides me with the rigor and method of a systems approach, often surprising people with accurate insights. Having experience in education enables me to quickly identify what a team or an individual needs.
The 3 Principles of Mind, Consciousness and Thought were first articulated by Sydney Banks. According to Banks, these principles are responsible for all human experience. The results I have observed from better understanding the 3 Principles have been transformative – that’s why this approach has become the foundation to my practice.
In my experience as a practitioner of the 3 Principles I have realised that we play a pivotal part in creating our experience of life, and that beyond everybody’s personal thought system lies a vast reservoir of wisdom, insight and intelligence. Coaching can help you access it.
The Thinking Environment (c) – “The quality of everything we do depends on the quality of the thinking we do first” – Nancy Kline
Nancy Kline from “Time to Think” has identified what we can do as coaches to generate the finest independent thinking in our clients. She has called it the “Thinking Environment”. This is the best method I’ve come across to help my clients access their own insights. This is where the Thinking Environment and the 3 Principles meet.
